RSO to Perform at Fourth Parks and Arts Event

ParksArtsPoster_singleElmwood Park will host the next Parks and Arts event of 2016. The event will take place this Saturday, Aug. 27, from noon to 3 p.m.in the park. Performing artists will include the Upscale Band and Show and Roanoke Symphony Orchestra (RSO). Visual artists include Charlene Graves (Lets Color) and Polly Branch (Seeing Nature with Watercolors).

This is the first time the RSO has performed a free event in the renovated Elmwood Park. Saturday’s Parks and Arts event coincides with the Deschutes Brewery Street Pub, which begins at 2 p.m.

All Parks and Arts events are FREE and provide venues for a wide variety of local and regional artists, dancers, and musicians to showcase their talents. With a focus on community settings, these events meld the outdoors with the arts, engage residents in art, and promote neighborhoods’ diverse cultural and historic resources.
