Greenbrier Nurseries is set up as a drop off point for supplies to go to the worst hit areas of Greenbrier Co WV and Alleghany Co VA.The company located at 5881 Starkey Road (540-989-2122) will be delivering produce from their farm daily to the Whatco Church for distribution.

Roanokers are asked to donate water, cleaning supplies, food, money, pet food, livestock feed and other needed items.

The flooding is on a scale with the Roanoke River in 1985.

“Our Talcott production nursery is near the epicenter of this historic flooding event. The people, pets and livestock in these areas are in peril,” said Jim Monroe. “Please help them by dropping off what you can donate at our facilities on Starkey Road. We will be having our Farm to Table Market on Saturday and all extra food will go to the folks there. We are donating all of our crops this week that we can harvest due to the weather.”
