Allegiant Air Expands Service From Roanoke To St. Petersburg / Tampa

N902NV (800x534)Allegiant Airlines has announced it will expand service to St. Petersburg/Tampa from Roanoke/Blacksburg Regional Airport.

This year, as the airline celebrates its 10th anniversary at ROA with air service to St. Petersburg, it will increase service from seasonal to year round by adding two flights per week on McDonnell Douglas MD 80 aircraft throughout August and September.

Allegiant Airlines serves the region with popular nonstop service to Orlando and St.
Petersburg/Tampa at a lower rate than other carriers serving the area.

“Passengers in the Roanoke and New River valleys and beyond support Allegiant by flying these routes and, as a result, the airline is now offering additional service,” said Tim Bradshaw, AAE, Executive Director of the Roanoke Regional Airport Commission. “This is an example of how the community supporting the airport can make a difference, resulting in additional service.”

The Roanoke/Blacksburg Regional Airport is the primary air carrier airport for Virginia’s Blue
Ridge. ROA moves nearly 600,000 passengers per year via four airlines with nonstop service to
eight hub cities. To learn more visit www.flyroa.com.
