2015 Marks Banner Year for Tourism in VA’s Blue Ridge

Virginia’s Blue Ridge lodging properties experienced a record 9.4% increase in room revenue during calendar 2015, according to STR, Inc.

The report also indicated that hotel room revenue totaled $99,778,880 or an increase of $8,569,967 over 2014. These same lodging properties sold a RECORD 1,178,771 rooms, an increase of 69,283 rooms sold or a 6.2% increase over 2014.

“It’s all about generating jobs and a positive economic impact on the region,” said Landon Howard, President of the Roanoke Valley Convention & Visitors Bureau. “It’s also a testament to the distinctive quality of our destination and our industry’s dedication to working together to position Virginia’s Blue Ridge for continual growth.”
