TAP Asks Community to Save Fathers First Program

Tap Fathers FirstOn October 7, 2015, TAP’s Fathers First program was notified that it will no longer receive federal funding. This happened despite glowing reviews, local government endorsements, and outstanding outcomes from the program’s clients.

In order to save this program, TAP is asking for community support by way of a crowd funding campaign.

Over the past four years, nearly 400 families have received life-changing services from TAP’s Fathers First program. Here are a few words from past Fathers First participants:

“I think I’m a better man and a better person because of this program. I can actually enjoy my life. It gave me positive skills and someone to help that was on my side for a change…the most important thing is I learned what my wants are versus my needs.”

“I learned it’s not all about the parents – it’s about the kids, ” he says. “I learned how to manage money, talk to my children, and manage a better life through self-discovery. I can only change me. I now have two years of employment at Integrity Windows & Doors. I used to jump around all the time – I’ve never held down a job that long.”

The need for this program in our community is great, and without Fathers First these needs are not being properly met. Please consider making a donation to help keep this program alive.
