Jefferson Center announced its recent addition to their team to meet the needs of their upcoming performance schedule. Matthew Wirt was tapped as Marketing Manager at the beginning of March, 2015.

“I couldn’t be more excited to join this team,” says Wirt. “For a decade, I’ve enjoyed the top notch music and art Jefferson Center brings to the region as an audience member. Now I get to play a hands-on role in putting it all together.”

Wirt will focus on communicating with the public, delivering Jefferson Center’s mission of education and enrichment via outreach and personal engagement. He joins the team as an award-winning advertising professional, bringing experience from a wide range of projects with area businesses and ad agencies.

Before joining Jefferson Center, Wirt worked with the local creative community to produce highly visible campaigns and interactive presences, and as a musician himself who studied at the Berklee College of Music, the new job strikes a particularly important chord.

“This position lets me apply my professional skills directly to the task of presenting music and culture to our community,” says Wirt. “There’s a lot of really ambitious planning in the works this year, and keeping myself from prematurely letting the cat out of the bag may very well prove to be the hardest part of this job.”

“We’re excited to have full time marketing support to further our important mission,” says Jefferson Center Executive Director, Cyrus Pace.

Wirt’s hire comes on the heels of Jefferson Center’s announcement of a July 14th performance by Punch Brothers with Bela Fleck & Abigail Washburn at Elmwood Park. Tickets go on sale March 16th at 10a.m. though jeffcenter.org.
