Faith Christian School’s Boys’ and Girls’ Varsity Basketball teams have advanced to the State Quarter Finals. This is the first in the school’s history that both teams have advanced.
The Girls Varsity team is the Regional runner-up and is the #2 seed in the Quarterfinals. They will take on the #3 seed Mountain View Christian Academy from Winchester, VA at 5:00 pm on Thursday.
The Boys Varsity team won the title of Regional Champion and is the #1 seed in the Quarterfinals game. They will play #4 seed Mountain View Christian Academy at 7:00 pm on Thursday.
Boys’ individual player news: Freshman Noah Barnhart was named to the All Tournament Team and 1st Team All District. Tenth grader, Brendan Newton was named to 1st Team All District, 1st Team All Region, All Tournament Team, Tournament MVP and Region Player of the Year. Senior Jesse Clinton was named to 2nd Team All District.
Girls’ individual player news: Senior Hannah Martin was named to the All Tournament Team, 1st Team All District, and 1st Team All Region. Senior Sarah McCurdy was named to 2nd Team All District.
State Quarter Finals are being held on Thursday, February 26th at Faith Christian School. Games begin at 5:00 p.m. (Girls’) and 7:00 p.m (Boys’).
FCS teams will play at the State Semi finals Friday and Sate Finals on Saturday. Both are being held at Westover Academy.
National Tournaments are next week in Dayton, TN, where both FCS teams will compete.
