Wonderland to Feature Art Exhibit: “Frames of Steel, Rails of Fire”

WonderlandIn October, Wonderland Gallery will display a series of oil paintings depicting the vibrant energy of today’s industrial Magic City. These paintings by Gerry Hubert are forged from the colorful, dynamic photographs of Jimmy Moore. A selection of Moore’s photographs will be on display at Wonderland in October as well. In addition to the artwork on sale, there will be limited number of Hubert’s signed “Roanoke Cityscapes” calendars available.

Roanoke artist Gerry Hubert’s career has grabbed the attention of regional and national media ever since his portrait of Lady Gaga was seen on the Oprah Winfrey Show in 2010. He has been featured on NPR, television news, newspapers and magazines. His portrait of Anderson Cooper was a winner of the “Anderson Live” television show’s artwork contest. This year, Hubert has started painting the favorite pooches of several celebrities. He has already given pet portraits to Lady Gaga, Bravo TV’s Andy Cohen, and “Real Housewife” Lisa Vanderpump, each of whom has praised his work on social media.
