Inspired by the classic what-to-wear scenario, Mother/Daughter duo, Jennifer and Stephanie Smith created Outfit Me Tonight, a new website and app that allows people to post two outfits or items to be voted upon by your friends exclusively and/or the entire Outfit Me Tonight community.
This trendy website offers a simple, user-friendly way to upload pictures in a side by side comparison directly to the web and instantly get feedback on anything fashion related, from head to toe.
Stephanie Smith, currently attending Virginia Tech, realized when she moved three hours away for school that she no longer had the convenience of going down the hallway to get a second opinion on her outfit from her mom.
The two decided to craft an easier way to get feedback in place of texting “selfies” back and forth. Over a six-month development process, Outfit Me Tonight became a fully functional website and app that allows you to post two outfit options (entire outfits, tops, dresses, accessories, or shoes) and get votes on which one you should wear. While the mobile version of the site allows an instant platform for fashion feedback, members can also browse the website and find fashion inspiration from the OFMT community.
“We are very lucky to have a great mother/daughter relationship that allows us to work on this project together. Our interest in having it be a fun process rather than a burden is what makes us feel good about the overall concept,” said Jennifer Smith. “Stephanie and I would resort to texting one another pictures of our outfits and realized there had to be an easier way to get each other’s feedback.”
Outfit Me Tonight’s mission is to simplify the process of picking out an outfit. Upload pictures of yourself, items from an online store, or something in your closet for help deciding on what to wear.
