New Basketball Coach Named at Roanoke Catholic

Josh Cunningham, an Assistant Varsity Basketball Coach for the past three years at Roanoke Catholic, has been named the school’s new Varsity Head Coach.

Cunningham is a graduate and former basketball standout at William Byrd High School where he was voted the team MVP, named first team all-district, and first team all-tournament his senior year.  He went on to play four years of college basketball at Emory & Henry, where he was a two time recipient of the coach’s award,  a three time member of the All-ODAC academic team, and he was named co-captain of the team his senior year.

Since graduating from Emory & Henry, Coach Cunningham has been a respected faculty member at Roanoke Catholic School and a “champion of all students during his tenure.”

School spokesperson Debbie Stump said, “Josh brings with him the respect of his current and former players, parents, alumni, school leadership, faculty, and the community and we look forward to having him lead our basketball program for many years to come. “
