onated by Norfolk Southern to replace the roof of the Salem Distribution Center.

The Feeding America Southwest Virginia facility in Salem was originally built over 50 years ago.  The roof area of the facility is over 98,000 square feet.  Eight large sections of roof will be replaced.  The Food Bank expects the project to begin as soon as a roofing contractor has been selected.  There should be no disruption of regular food distributions to the partner feeding programs during the project.

“We were very pleased to have “Wick” Moorman and James Squires visit our Salem Distribution Center.  The very generous, transformative gift from Norfolk Southern will help to ensure the integrity of the roof on our facility in Salem,” said Pamela Irvine, President and CEO of Feeding America Southwest Virginia.

The Salem Distribution Center of Feeding America Southwest Virginia is located at 1025 Electric Road, Salem.
