Annual “Best In Show” Arts Show To Be Held Feb 22nd

Best In ShowArt and animal lovers will unite on Friday Feb 22nd from 6-9 pm at the Taubman Museum of Art for the annual art show to benefit the Roanoke Valley SPCA. More than 200 local artists will be submitting their original artwork, in a variety of medium (all depicting animals) to make “Best In Show” one of the most anticipated events in Roanoke and a major fundraiser for the RVSPCA. This will be the 8th year the event has been held.

All artwork will be for sale, with at least 50% of the purchase price donated to the RVSPCA by the artists. Purchased artwork may be picked up between 8:00-9:00 PM the night of the Reception. In addition to traditional artwork, sculpture as well as dog and cat houses, beds or prototypes of designs will be on display.

All pieces will be available for viewing at a Virtual Art Show on the Best In Show Facebook page following the Opening Night Reception. Unsold artwork will be available for online purchase through the RVSPCA website and Best In Show Facebook page, until March 30, 2013.

Best In Show is a juried art show, being judged this year by Karen Sam-Norgard. Winner of Best in Show is chosen by the Pet Calendar committee and will be featured on the cover of the 2014 Pet Calendar.

The RVSPCA relies on the generosity of individuals and the business community for the funds necessary to operate the Adoption & Education Center. It does not receive funding from any governmental body or national animal welfare organization.
