The Lady Knights saw their season come to an end Monday night, as host Christiansburg cruised to a 42-21 win in the first round of the River Ridge District girls’ basketball tournament.
The Blue Demons (15-8) took a 10-6 lead after the opening quarter and increased their advantage to 17-7 at the break. The Knights (1-22) only point in the second quarter came on a free throw by Taylor Asimakopoulos
Christiansburg went on to outscore Cave Spring 15-8 in the third quarter and 10-6 in the fourth quarter, en route to the 21-point win.
The Knights were seven-of-39 from the field and seven-for-14 at the foul line.
Taylor Asimakopoulos paced Cave Spring with six points.
Paige Wright led Christiansburg with a game-high 14 points.
